Recently, at Aeolus Tyre, a giant off-the-road (OTR) radial tire with a diameter of nearly 4 meters and a section width of 1.5 meters successfully rolled off the production line.
This marks the first domestically produced 60/80R57 giant OTR radial tire in China, filling a critical gap in the country’s technological capabilities and breaking the long-standing monopoly of international industry leaders.
Equivalent to premium brands:
MICHELIN X MINE D2 L-5R HR – 60/80R57
BRIDGESTONE VSDL L-5 D2A 2* 60/80R57
Specifically developed for 50-ton-class loaders like KOMATSU WA1200-6, the tire serves as a core supporting component for large heavy-duty equipment.
Designed for extreme operating environments such as open-pit mines and port logistics, the product adopts high wear-resistant and cut-resistant compounds together with a reinforced carcass structure, delivering exceptional load-bearing capacity, impact resistance, and extended service life. The tire fully meets the demanding requirements of heavy-duty operations and addresses a key gap in China’s ultra-large loader tire supply chain.
As a listed company under Sinochem Holdings, Aeolus Tyre has long been dedicated to the industrial tire sector, with a strategic focus on becoming a global leader in high-quality industrial tires. The successful rollout of this giant tire was supported by the company’s RMB 1.464 billion expansion and efficiency enhancement project for giant OTR radial tires. Upon full operation, the project is expected to add an annual production capacity of approximately 20,000 tires, providing strong momentum for Aeolus Tyre’s high-end transformation and development.
Industry experts noted that the successful development of the 60/80R57 giant tire represents a major breakthrough in the independent control of core components for China’s construction machinery industry. It not only demonstrates Aeolus Tyre’s strong R&D and manufacturing capabilities in the giant OTR tire sector, but also enhances the security and resilience of China’s heavy equipment industrial chain, helping Chinese manufacturing gain greater influence in the global high-end construction equipment market.
